Hotel Collodi, (12 rooms) description: Previous guests of this lovely little hotel located in the historic centre, just 5 minutes from the train station and Duomo, have praised its cleanliness, friendly staff and lovely rooms.
All the elegant bedrooms are furnished in a typical Florentine style, with fine details including wrought iron beds. Set in the San Lorenzo district (the oldest part of Florence), this intimate, family-run hotel also has visible elements of ancient brickwork and wooden ceilings.
For Florentines this district means 2 things: market and Medici. The city's biggest open market is located here and it was also home to the powerful Medici family who shaped much of the history of Florence. The other important sights of the city and the business district are also within easy walking distance.

TRAVEL INFORMATION
By Train:
Florence Santa Maria Novella train station is located about 400 metres from the hotel. Leave the station by the exit near the pharmacy. Go straight on and cross the street at the traffic lights, then turn right towards McDonalds. Continue straight on and cross Largo Alinari. At the next corner you will reach Piazza dell'Unità Italiana. Turn left into Via Sant'Antonino, then continue until the end of the street, where you will see the door of the hotel. (During your walk you will pass the Mercato Centrale market).
By Car:
- Head into Florence, following the signs to Santa Maria Novella train station.
- Continue along Via S. Caterina d'Alessandria until you see a square on your right (Piazza Indipendenza).
- Turn left at the traffic lights (always blinking) into Via Guelfa.
- Follow the street and take the third street on your right-hand side (Via Ginori).
- Turn right into the next street, Via Taddea.
- You will find the hotel on the right-hand side.
